ROW80 Check-In: 12/4/11
You guys, this was a whirlwind writing week! (Woo alliteration!) My write night buddies and I met not just once, but twice this week, each time for about 2.5 hours. Our productivity together has risen to a whole new level! Each day we chatted for the first 5-10 minutes and then didn’t talk again until hours passed. I know I keep dwelling on write nights, but they are the reason I’m getting so much done lately. If you have the ability to put together a group of your own, I highly recommend it.
I didn’t do the best job of tracking the total number of hours I edited this week but it’s over 10.
I spent the write nights editing chapters based on comments from my critique group. Then during my lunch hours and train rides to and from work, I read Hooked: Write Fiction That Grabs Readers at Page One & Never Lets Them Go. I’m still on The Opening part of my revision checklist and this book is really helpful so far. I’m going to elaborate on one of the main things I’ve learned from it on Wednesday. Stay tuned!
Lately I’ve been getting so much more done during the week than on the weekends, so I’m going to try to keep the productivity up this week.
A late congrats to everyone who finished NaNoWriMo! For those of you embarking on revisions this week, good luck! I’m right there with you.
How was your week? See how the other ROWers are doing here.
