Goodbye (For Now) ROW80
If you’ve read my blog recently or follow me on twitter, you know that I attended the Writer’s Digest conference this weekend. Today was the last day and overall, it was amazing. I plan to share a few recaps, so stay tuned!
You probably also know that I participated in the Pitch Slam, which was yesterday. I’ll share more details on Wednesday, but for now I’ll say–having had that experience and knowing I’ll be querying agents in the near future made me realize something. I don’t feel comfortable talking about my book’s status online. Since my goals this round were all about revision, and that’s my main focus right now, I’ve decided to drop out of this round of ROW80.
This has nothing to do with the challenge (which is fantastic!), and everything to do with the fact that I’d rather finish working on this book quietly and let my critique partners and beta readers keep me motivated offline. The next time you hear about this book, it’ll be because something exciting happened. And if you don’t hear about this book ever again, well…I guess you’ll figure out what that means.
Thank you for everyone who’s supported me through ROW80. I will definitely continue to root everyone on, especially those of you I’ve gotten to know through this challenge. And when I’m ready to start writing another first draft, I’ll totally sign up again because ROW80 really motivated me last time.
As for my blogging schedule, Sunday updates will go away, but I’ll still post every Wednesday and sporadically on Fridays.
Hope you all have a great and productive week!
