10. Improve my blog

I still love my blog’s design (Thanks Joy!) but I’ve wanted to make a few changes to make the rest of it better. I figure since I’ll be querying soon, literary agents might find my blog so I want it to be professional and easy to navigate. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

• Goodbye Blogspot, Hello Custom URL. I *finally* got around to buying my domain name – http://www.ghenetmyrthil.com/. The upcoming Writer’s Digest Conference inspired me to make this change, since I wanted to put the new URL on my business cards.
• Updated Bio. This is still a work-in-progress (since I suck at writing bios) but you can see my new one in the About Ghenet page above. I listed some fun facts about me. Who doesn’t like fun facts?
• Writing Page. The new Ghenet’s Writing page has information about the books I’m writing. For now, it just has the bare bones of my current WIP (title, word count, genre, and status) but I might throw my hook/pitch in there once I start querying.
• Books Page. I’ll keep track of what books I read here. My plan is to read 52 this year so the list should grow each week.
• Sidebar Tweaks. I updated the blurb under my photo, my blog schedule, and streamlined the labels in my posts.

An even bigger blog change is in the works, so I’ll share it once it’s done.

Speaking of blogging, I have a slight change to make to my schedule. I want to give my current revisions my full attention so until they’re done, I’m going to only blog on Wednesdays, with a ROW80 update on Sundays. Once I send the manuscript off to beta readers, my Friday posts will be back. I hope you understand!

Meanwhile, anyone have any tips on writing bios?
